Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance is a new Command and Control concept with two principal aims. The first is to equip traditional C2 systems with higher capabilities, (such as in the areas of intelligence and surveillance); and the second is to play a key role in NEC (Network Enabled Capability), which seeks to improve decision cycles by means of assuring information superiority. The achievement of these two aims will ensure, among other things, better management of material and human resources that NATO and other countries rely on. Implementation of this concept is primary for the Transformation process in which nations and NATO are immersed.

With this in mind, some of the main goals we are working towards in terms of achieving this interoperability over the next few years are:

  • » The adaptation of different Command and Control systems for several nations, in line with the new philosophy that NATO is trying to implement;
  • » The migration of all current services to IP;
  • » The basing of Information Systems on service-oriented architecture.

CENTUM, in this field, has positioned itself as a company that integrates solutions, designing turnkey solutions wholly customized for its clients, incorporating technologies from third parties which offer enhanced benefits, minimizing costs and maximizing the final performance of the proposed system. Once more, CENTUM-LAB plays a leading role in this: it is the starting point for the design and testing of our solutions, and its work plays a large part in ensuring the success of the display and integration of the final system.
