New information operations (IO = Information Operation), C4ISR systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Acknowledgement) plus Tactical Data Links (TDLs) are set to transform the current knowledge base of the armed forces on a global level. The target in this field is to create a situation, whereby upon implementation of a TDL, which is fast becoming a mainstay of modern operational scenarios, armed forces will be capable of collecting information speedily and feeding that information through a process of analysis and interpretation quickly, thereby facilitating the execution of long-range precision attacks, through the rapid and opportune distribution of large volumes of information on the battle field to every position, within a given operational scenario. In addition, everyday operations in terms of peacekeeping, surveillance, interdiction, and combat are based to a considerable extent on the ability of TDLs to exchange tactical data provided in real time for the purpose of monitoring a particular situation.
CENTUM is involved in the analysis, design, development, integration, and certification of TDLs for air, naval, and terrestrial platforms, in accordance with several communications standards, such as Link11, Link16, Link22, and LU2.
