Electronic Warfare Systems
Electronic warfare (EW-Electronic Warfare) is the lynchpin of modern wartime operations. By definition, it is any military activity which uses electronic technology for the purpose of determining, exploiting, reducing, and avoiding the hostile use of any and every aspect of the energy spectrum, (electromagnetic, for example), by the adversary, and at the same time, maintaining and protecting this same energy spectrum for its own benefit.
Due to the complexity of electronic warfare, CENTUM’s activities in this sector are divided into three distinct areas:
- » Electronic warfare support measures: search, interception, identification and location of electromagnetic energy sources.
- » Electronic countermeasures: actions to avoid or reduce the enemy’s use of the electromagnetic spectrum.
- » Electronic protection measures: focused on assuring own use of the electromagnetic spectrum.
CENTUM is actively involved in the complete system life cycle, and takes responsibility for:
- » Desired solution analysis: technological research, COTS equipment analysis, preliminary system design, system risk analysis;
- » Full system design;
- » Selection and monitoring of solutions providers;
- » Definition of integration processes: conducting test scenarios, specifications of test benches;
- » System rating: test execution (functional, environmental, EMI/EMC);
- » Certification Support: management of dialogue with Certification authorities.
